About the Firm

A practice built where tax exposure and data risk meet.

Meridian Tax & Privacy Counsel advises individuals and businesses on IRS tax controversy and planning, and on privacy and data protection compliance. We built the firm around both practices deliberately: reporting obligations, financial account disclosures, and data governance increasingly involve the same underlying question — who has access to what information, and what does the law require you to do about it.

Two disciplines, one team

Tax and privacy matters increasingly overlap — information reporting, cross-border data, and financial account disclosure all sit at that intersection. One team means no gaps between specialists.

Privilege from the first call

Every consultation and, once engaged, every incident response or controversy matter is handled under attorney-client privilege from the outset.

Plain-language counsel

You'll know what a notice means, what a compliance gap actually risks, and what happens next — without needing a second lawyer to translate the first one.

Where we practice

Our attorneys represent clients before the IRS, IRS Office of Appeals, and U.S. Tax Court, and advise on compliance with CCPA/CPRA and other state privacy statutes, GDPR, and sector-specific frameworks. When a matter calls for local counsel in another jurisdiction, we coordinate directly so you have a single point of contact.

How an engagement begins

Every relationship starts with a confidential consultation. We’ll assess the notice, the incident, or the compliance gap you’re facing, explain realistic options and likely timelines, and outline fees before any engagement agreement is signed.
